1. What is Google Search Console?
Google Search Console is a free tool by Google that helps website owners monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot their site’s presence in Google Search results. It provides data about search traffic, performance, indexing status, and more.
2. How to Sign Up
Visit Google Search Console and click “Start Now”. Log in with your Google account and add your website as a property.
3. Site Verification
Choose a verification method (recommended: HTML tag or DNS). Example for HTML tag:

Paste this code inside the <head> section of your homepage and click “Verify”.
4. Submitting Your Sitemap
Go to the “Sitemaps” section in the left menu. Enter the URL of your sitemap (usually sitemap.xml
) and click Submit.

5. Track Performance
Use the “Performance” tab to track clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position for keywords your site ranks for. You can filter by page, country, and device.
6. Fixing Coverage & Mobile Errors
Under “Pages” and “Mobile Usability,” you’ll see any indexing or mobile-friendliness issues. Click on any issue to view details and fix them accordingly. After resolving, click “Validate Fix.”
